My Two Cents Worth

..Sunday, August 30, 2009..

Why does God want us to give to Him, even when we are in a very hard and difficult situation?

What I see is that the multiplication of finance is an addition blessing.

The main purpose is to let us know Him more. To let us know that He is in Control.

A story example,

two people, Sam and Berry

Both of them got fired by their bosses and now they are unemployed.

During one of the service God spoke to the both of them, Sam and Berry, to give what they have left.

What they did not know is that God is going to place a job opportunity for the both of them three days later.

So now, Sam gave it all while Berry refused to give any.

Three days later, both of them got their job.

But Sam is going to be the one that gets the greater blessing.

Why is it so, I mean, don't both of them got a job?

The Catch here is that Sam receives a revelation of God through the giving at that time.
It reinforces the revelation of "God's promises will not return to Him in void".
It reinforces the revelation of "God is his provider".
It shows realness of God in Sam's life.

It basically becomes an impact to Sam, an impact that Sam can always recall back when he meets problems in his life.

"The God I know is a God of impossible" becomes a different kind of revelation to Sam.

It becomes a core foundation for Sam, his encounter with God.

-

Now let's look at Part 2 of the story,

-

Sam and Berry both got fired again.

This time God decide to test both of them by placing their employment like 2years later, a job that will pay them 20thousand a month.

The one that will trust in God could only be Sam, being the one who knows that God once helped him. With the revelation he has from the previous experience, he was able to endure through the 2years by recalling the time where God help him get a new job when he got fired the first time.

But as for Berry, he might be disheartened and even be disappointed with God and left God, thus losing the blessings in his life from then on.

Therefore, giving to God actually helps you to build even stronger foundation on God, especially during times of crisis.
That we will then be able to pass the test that God set for us, thus earning greater blessing. I guess that's why God sees giving as such an important thing to do.

Ultimately, it is all about enduring through to the end when you will be able to go back to heaven and receive the real big blessing that God has prepare for us. And that requires a very strong foundation in Christ to reach that stage.

So let's make giving a lifestyle and a chance to increase your revelation of God, a stronger foundation in Him.

Give with an expectancy and purpose.

For physical blessing as well as spiritual blessing.
